General Studies

At Kehilla High School, we provide our students with a comprehensive, rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.  Small class sizes mean that KHS students benefit from an unusual amount of individualized attention from our highly dedicated faculty.  Our school provides a uniquely rich and supportive academic environment that helps all our students develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college and beyond.

Math

At Kehilla High School, we believe everyone is a mathematician. Math is a fundamental human endeavor that involves collaboration and problem-solving.  To help our students see math in this way, we use a project-based learning curriculum that engages students in authentic mathematical activity.  Course offerings include Integrated Math 1 - 3, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB/BC.

English

The Kehilla High School English program seeks to cultivate students’ ability to think critically and communicate effectively while fostering an appreciation for language and literature as tools for understanding and engaging with the world.  Students read a variety of literary genres, such as poetry, short stories, novels, non-fiction, and drama. Students are encouraged to analyze them through various critical lenses.  The KHS program stresses the development of both written and oral communication skills.  Students learn how to write clearly and effectively across the curriculum, and they hone their speaking skills in a range of settings.  Course offerings include English I, II, III, and IV, as well as AP Language and AP Literature.  Elective offerings include a variety of options spanning the canons of British, Israeli, World, and American literature.

Science

The Kehilla High School Science program is designed to challenge students to think critically and creatively about the world around them. Our courses center around real-world phenomena and investigations of the science behind them. Our small classes lend themselves to meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences that allow our students to delve into the content.  Course offerings include Integrated Physics & Chemistry, (AP) Biology, (AP) Chemistry, (AP) Physics, and AP Environmental Science.

Social Studies

At Kehilla High School, we believe that it is crucially important that all students have the skills and knowledge they need to be informed, engaged citizens of a rapidly changing world. The KHS Social Studies program is designed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of history, geography, economics, and political science.   Course offerings include World History, Human Geography, United States History, and government and economics.  Additional AP courses will be offered at the junior and senior level including, but not limited to, AP European History, AP Comparative Government, and AP World History.
